I think much of the audience, like myself, had never heard of Trower. What I remember is how turned on the crowd was, they loved him and wouldn't let him leave, and he did 2 or 3 encores. Trower seemed overjoyed at the reception he was getting, and was just beaming. Pretty extraordinary, since he was opening for a country-rock band and a jazz-influenced band! Another thing I remember is that when David Blue played, Graham Nash came on and did a song with him, and while Blue was jumping around with his guitar, the cord came out, and Nash was following him around on his knees, trying to put it back in.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12471353633732900932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294811369769114458.post-59623265668539382002016-07-27T10:16:30.731-07:002016-07-27T10:16:30.731-07:00Does anyone remember what date he played Winterlan...Does anyone remember what date he played Winterland with Golden Erring and Sha na naAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09786581915913008705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294811369769114458.post-7073160329948413292012-01-01T14:27:27.855-08:002012-01-01T14:27:27.855-08:00Hi I'm from the uk I saw robin and the boys se...Hi I'm from the uk I saw robin and the boys several times in the 1970's the first time I was on 13 Those concerts still are some of the best days of my life, I was able to take my wife to see him 4 years ago in the uk, just to show her where my musical tastes come from. James Dewar's voice will live with me forever.
When my boys were very young they used to dance on the table to Long Misty Days.lpphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14312864224107927011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294811369769114458.post-51089970299154643582011-10-04T09:18:35.985-07:002011-10-04T09:18:35.985-07:00Great to see these memories, although I picked up o...Great to see these memories, although I picked up on the band with the release of Bridge Of Sighs I saw Robin for the first time at Wembley in 1976 and was blown away by the sheer force of the band and the volume - talk about a tight unit. I have to say I would have loved to have see him when the band played these early shows on the west coast.Thank God he was filmed at the Winterland in '75.John Golbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02875786154283870071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294811369769114458.post-46612011882795952572011-02-09T23:13:35.307-08:002011-02-09T23:13:35.307-08:00Your blog and quotes are brilliant, really...Robin...Your blog and quotes are brilliant, really...Robin is one of the last guitar-hero..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294811369769114458.post-59972442079361726582010-09-02T01:01:46.936-07:002010-09-02T01:01:46.936-07:00I was at the Winterland show when Robin opened for...I was at the Winterland show when Robin opened for Sha Na Na. Even though I had the albums and loved the music, I was unprepared for the sheer force of the show. It remains one of the top shows I've seen. I left before Sha Na Na got started, totally wrung out by Robin\James\Reg.
Went to see Robin again just a couple of years ago (2008), he's still got it, Daydream still takes me away...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
